| BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Chernivtsy - Ukraine (former Soviet Union) and started to paint before I could read or write!
After moving up to Israel on 1990, I started to learn computer graphics and worked in advertising companies - drawing pencil sketches, create computer illustration for magazines, books, newspaper to designed 3d dimensional models, interactive presentation and Internet contents. I've been designing websites for around 10 years.
Now I'm living in Zichron Yaakov (Israel) and working as a full time, self-representing watercolor and oil artist. I'm teaching many groups of kids, teenagers and adults in my personal studio.

Being An Artist
We all know that to be able to draw, or paint, or even to possess all the necessary technical painting skills, does not make one an artist. Every work of art is initiated with love and passion, and is an expression of the sum total of the artist's personality. Technical skill is definitely required; but it is merely the tool to communicate one's message.
The thing that makes one artist different from another is attitude, and what makes an artist different from a non-artist is attitude. By attitude I do not mean growing a beard or acting in a certain way that one might expect of an artist. Rather, it is one's way of looking at things and observing the world in a kind of detached sort of way.

While I am sketching or painting outdoors, a sensation arises as if I am watching a movie or dreaming. I am fully involved with the scene, but somewhere inside, I am different. It is like being relaxed in my armchair. The beauty of the world becomes enhanced. This is a very pleasing sensation and, I think it is one of the best gifts of being an artist.
What inspires me?
Inspiration has come from different sources at different times in my life.
● Inner desire to be the best painter I can be. When I taught, I wanted my students to be the best that they could be. I was always very competitive. If I were being honest, the desire to be recognized as a significant painter before I die would be included.
● Quality composition in any manner (found or created).
● Everything I see in my environment now.
● Work of other artists following their own personal muse.
● Light and the play of shadows that result.
